New York Giants defeat Arizona Cardinals 36-24

Overview

The New York Giants defeated the Arizona Cardinals 36-24 at MetLife Stadium during their Week 4 matchup, moving to a 3-1 record. The victory marks the first time since 2015 that the Giants have held sole possession of first place in the NFC East.

Giants quarterback Jameis Winston, starting in place of the injured Jaxson Dart, completed 18 of 29 passes for 250 yards and three touchdowns. His touchdown passes were caught by Malachi Fields, Malik Nabers, and Theo Johnson, though Winston also threw two interceptions. Receiver Malik Nabers contributed 112 receiving yards and one touchdown.

The win was secured in the final seconds when cornerback Deonte Banks intercepted a Jacoby Brissett pass intended for Michael Wilson and returned it 98 yards for a touchdown. The Cardinals, who fell to 1-3, held an early 14-3 lead but struggled offensively, managing only 138 total yards after that point. Brissett finished with 166 passing yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions.

The game was also noted for a controversial moment in which line judge Jeff Seeman was “caught on camera using profanity toward Cardinals tight end Trey McBride.”
