Mid‑July 2026 saw isolated killings in Kamituga (South‑Kivu) and Walikale (North‑Kivu), leaving two women dead and prompting calls for investigations. Within ten days the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) escalated to coordinated assaults across North Kivu and Ituri, killing at least 22 civilians, displacing many toward Beni, and complicating aid delivery amid an Ebola outbreak. In late July the violence intensified.
