Singaporean officials, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, confirmed the detentions and stated that consular staff are providing assistance to the detainees. While Singapore is communicating with Chinese authorities, Second Minister for Foreign Affairs Sim Ann noted that the government “will not interfere in China’s judicial processes.”

In response, the Chinese Foreign Ministry stated that criminal cases involving foreign nationals are handled according to the law to ensure legal rights are protected. Investigations into the scheme remain ongoing.
