Art exhibitions for health awareness in Naples

Overview

Naples has hosted several art-based health awareness initiatives. In early October, the ‘Human Faces – Art for Life’ photographic exhibition was held at the Maschio Angioino, focusing on oncological diseases, cancer prevention, and medical research, with a specific emphasis on breast cancer.

Following this, the National Archaeological Museum of Naples (MANN) launched the ‘Oltre il punto di vista’ project as part of the ‘Siamo un’opera d’arte’ campaign. This initiative uses masterpieces from the Farnese Collection, such as the Farnese Hercules, overlaid with images of medical devices to reduce the stigma surrounding stoma and incontinence care. The project is a collaboration between FAIS, the National Cancer Institute IRCCS Fondazione Pascale, and MANN.
