Artisanal food festivals in Genoa

Overview

Genoa has hosted a series of artisanal food and cultural festivals aimed at celebrating local heritage and craftsmanship.

In late September, the inaugural Fugassa Festival at Porto Antico drew approximately 10,000 visitors to celebrate Genovese focaccia. The event featured bakers from Liguria and several other Italian regions, offering tastings, educational talks, and workshops.

Following this, the Museo Diocesano scheduled the ‘Gelato, Cioccolato e Caffè d’Autore’ festival for mid-October. This event focuses on master gelato makers, chocolatiers, and coffee roasters, incorporating historical elements such as 19th-century machinery and live demonstrations to connect the city’s cultural identity with its productive expertise.
