Concurrently, at the Singapore International Energy Week, leaders and the IEA called for the accelerated implementation of the ASEAN Power Grid. This initiative aims to enhance regional security through multilateral electricity trading, which provides flexibility during disruptions. The IEA highlighted that the grid is of critical importance as electricity demand in the region grows rapidly due to industrial electrification and the rise of electric vehicles and data centers.
