Indonesia’s Ministry of Agriculture has deepened its multi‑billion‑rupiah support for farmers, adding Rp53 billion for Gorontalo (hand tractors, rice‑seed for 10 000 ha, hybrid corn for 40 000 ha) and a subsidised fertilizer programme for 554 fish‑pond operators in Brebes. Training for fruit‑harvest post‑harvest handling was delivered in Riau, while the farmer price index rose to 114.65 in June and Bulog absorbed 3.3 million tonnes of rice to stabilise farm‑gate prices. Youth‑led farm initiatives were also pledged. The rice‑aid programme continues with a three‑month distribution of 10 kg per household to about 33.2 million families from July to September 2026. Bulog has stocked roughly 5.4 million tonnes and will dispatch 997,200 tonnes in August once the additional state budget is approved, bringing total 2026 rice assistance to 1.66 million tonnes – a 133 % rise over 2025. Social‑aid disbursement under PKH and BPNT ~~begins~~ began on 20 July, allocating Rp28.7 trillion and Rp43.8 trillion respectively to roughly 18 million households, with cash transfers ranging from Rp225 000 to Rp750 000. The programmes are channelled through the Red‑White Village Cooperatives (KDKMP), now the single‑point hub for subsidies, LPG, fertiliser and rice. KDKMP transactions topped Rp56.8 billion by mid‑July, driven by fertiliser sales, and profit‑sharing rules return up to 80 % of earnings to residents. Training for about 30 000 managers is under way, and by early August 83 382 cooperatives were legally registered, with 35 857 land sites ready and 19 222 units completed. The government aims to finish 35 000 units by August 2026, positioning the cooperatives as integrated service hubs linking farmers, fishers, state enterprises and local businesses to boost food security and rural growth.
