Assam 2026 flood relief donations

In late July 2026, Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan contributed ₹1 crore to the Assam Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, joining earlier celebrity aid from figures such as Salman Khan, Ayushmann Khurrana, Alia Bhatt and Bhumi Pednekar. The donation was directed toward food, shelter, water‑purification tablets and medical supplies for flood‑displaced families.

A few days later, Punjabi singer‑songwriter Guru Randhawa added a ₹5 lakh contribution, while Reliance Foundation founder Nita M. Ambani announced a much larger ₹21 crore donation to the same fund. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma visited the severely affected Nepalikhuti area in Sivasagar district to assess damage and oversee ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts. The sequence shows a widening pool of donors, from individual celebrities to major corporate philanthropy, as the state continues to grapple with extensive loss of life, property and agricultural livelihoods caused by the 2026 floods.
