Assassination of Brazilian influencer Evelyn Lima Dantas

Overview

Influencer Evelyn Lima Dantas, 21, was executed by gunfire in Mãe do Rio, Pará. According to police reports, at least two armed men invaded her residence around 3:30 AM on a Wednesday morning, forced her father to the ground, and dragged the victim outside where she was shot multiple times.

Before fleeing in a vehicle, the assailants spray-painted the acronym ‘TCP’ on the house, which refers to the Terceiro Comando Puro, a criminal organization originating in Rio de Janeiro. When police arrived following reports from neighbors, they found the victim lifeless on the sidewalk. Authorities noted that the father was attempting to clean the crime scene upon their arrival, an action police requested he stop to preserve evidence.

Dantas had been released on provisional liberty only seven days prior. She was a person of interest in the investigation regarding the July murder of retired police sergeant Antônio Anildo Alves da Silva. Investigators are examining whether her death is directly linked to her potential involvement or information provided during that case, or if it was an act of retaliation.
