Astronomy and space science events in Italy

Overview

A series of astronomical, artistic, and scientific educational events are scheduled across various Italian regions in late 2026.

In the Chianti region, the Osservatorio Polifunzionale del Chianti will host the ‘Contemporary Celestial Maps’ exhibition on October 4, a collaboration between fine arts academies and scientific institutions exploring the intersection of art and space research. Additionally, the Osservatorio Astronomico Serafino Zani is set to conduct a deep-sky photography workshop from November 6 to 8, focusing on the processing of images of galaxies and nebulae.

In the Turin region, programming includes a presentation by journalist Antonio Lo Campo on October 9 at the Teatro Pavarotti, titled ‘Apollo and Artemis: yesterday, today and tomorrow on the Moon’, which examines the history and future of lunar exploration. This is followed by an astronomical observation evening on October 22 at Birrificio Metzger, held in collaboration with the Planetario di Torino, allowing participants to view the Moon and Saturn.
