Athens' public transport system has reached a milestone following one year of 24-hour Saturday service. Since the measure was implemented in September 2025, the Metro, tram, and specific bus lines have recorded approximately 2,282,000 passenger trips during Saturday night hours. Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Giorgos Kotsiras noted the measure provides a “safe and reliable option” that reduces reliance on private vehicles.

In addition to the established Saturday night service, STASY has announced temporary extensions to Metro and tram operating hours to accommodate specific events at the Kallimarmaro Panathenaic Stadium. These extensions, scheduled for mid-September, include late-night departures to support a tribute concert and a Hellenic Red Cross event.
