Athlete qualifications for Lima 2027 Pan American Games

Overview

Athletes from various nations have begun securing spots for the 2027 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru.

In early October, Mexican sailor Namkhai Bourquin qualified for the games in the ILCA 7 class following a fifth-place finish at the Olympic Class Regatta in Kingston, Ontario. Bourquin was the highest-ranking Mexican athlete in the competition.

Later in the month, Brazilian longboard surfer Alexandre Escobar secured his qualification after reaching the semifinals at the ISA World Longboard Championship in El Salvador. Escobar was the top-ranked Brazilian in the men’s category, and the Brazilian national team also earned a bronze medal in the team competition.
