Atlanta Falcons and Green Bay Packers matchup

Overview

Following their 35-14 victory over the Green Bay Packers, Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week. Robinson’s performance included 194 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries, plus 19 receiving yards. Robinson currently leads the NFL in scrimmage yards with 467 through the first three weeks of the 2026 season. He also became the 10th player in NFL history to surpass 6,000 career scrimmage yards before the age of 25. Reflecting on his performance, Robinson cited a philosophy from Kobe Bryant, noting that because audiences pay to watch, players must perform their jobs. The win at Lambeau Field marked a significant rebound for the Falcons after an 0-2 start. It featured the return of quarterback Michael Penix Jr., who recorded 256 passing yards and one touchdown in his first game since an ACL injury ten months prior. The offense was further supported by Drake London, who tallied 194 receiving yards, making them the first teammates in NFL history to each record 150-plus yards at Lambeau Field. Defensively, Atlanta limited the Packers to just 17 rushing yards. The loss has led to speculation regarding the Packers' future, with former Pro Bowler Jarvis Landry suggesting potential changes, including the departure of head coach Matt LaFleur. LaFleur noted the team must address its lack of a consistent running game in the absence of Josh Jacobs. Robinson has continued his momentum into Week 4, leading the Falcons to a 45-17 win against the New Orleans Saints at the Caesars Superdome. He recorded 145 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries, helping the team improve to a 2-2 record. The Falcons' offensive resurgence is increasingly driven by a dominant running game featuring both Bijan Robinson and Brian Robinson Jr.
