In July 2026, Chevrolet introduced the Onix Activ, a crossover-styled version of its compact hatchback, at the Rural Expo in Buenos Aires. Imported from Brazil, the model is priced at 35,043,900 Argentine pesos and is powered by a 1.0-litre turbocharged gasoline engine paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Following this, Geely announced the Argentine debut of the Icon, a compact SUV previously sold only in Asia. The model, which features a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine delivering up to 177 hp and a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, was scheduled for official presentation in Buenos Aires on 18 August. The initial shipment includes 200 units available through 19 dealerships at US$30,800. Juan Azamendia, Director General of Autos Sustentables del Sur, described the Icon as “a highly competitive product in quality and price for a constantly growing segment.” In early August, Suzuki launched the Across hybrid SUV in Argentina via distributor Inchcape. Replacing the Gran Vitara, the model is manufactured in India and utilizes a 1.5-litre K15C engine (101 hp) paired with a 12V Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki (SHVS) system that assists during acceleration and deceleration. Prices for the GL and GLX trims range from US$27,990 to US$29,990. The Across offers 210 mm of ground clearance and extensive safety features, including autonomous emergency braking and a 360° camera. In late August, Lynk & Co, a premium brand formed by an alliance between Geely and Volvo, launched operations in Argentina through a partnership with Grupo Belcastro. The brand introduced a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) lineup consisting of three SUV models: the 06, the 01, and the flagship 08. In September 2026, Lynk & Co expanded its hybrid presence in the region. In Argentina, AVANIM introduced the Lynk & Co 01 in San Juan.
