Automechanika Frankfurt 2026 trade fair

The Automechanika Frankfurt 2026 trade fair, scheduled for September 8 to 12, serves as a major platform for the automotive aftermarket industry.

Organizers have announced a program featuring 13 specialized workshops covering technical topics such as ADAS calibration, high-voltage safety, and AI-supported robotic painting. These free sessions focus on the accident repair process chain, including damage assessment, metal and plastic work, and paint and glass repair, with participants receiving certificates upon completion. The event also includes networking through the Classic Alliance B2B network for vintage car restoration, alongside live demonstrations like vehicle restoration and drift shows.

Participating companies, such as Schaeffler’s Vehicle Lifetime Solutions division, are utilizing the exhibition to launch a unified aftermarket portfolio. This division aims to address diverse repair needs across internal combustion, hybrid, and electric vehicles by integrating mechanical, electronic, and software-based solutions. The integration of Vitesco Technologies is expected to strengthen Schaeffler’s capabilities in electronics, software, and control systems, covering five key areas: transmission, engine, chassis and body, thermal management, and electric mobility.

While Schaeffler expands its offerings to include components like air intake and high-pressure pumps, financial analysts maintain a ‘Hold’ rating on Schaeffler AG. Analysts cite challenges in the e-mobility and robotics segments, projecting that e-mobility margins may remain between 0% and -4% through 2028, while legacy powertrain and chassis operations continue to drive consistent profitability.
