Commercial vehicle manufacturers are focusing on technological integration and strategic transitions within the automotive industry.

Volkswagen Truck & Bus México (VWTBM) recently hosted the VW Experience 2026 in Brazil to showcase engineering standards and engage with strategic partners from the Mexican cargo and passenger transport segments. Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz Camiones y Buses presented digital solutions at Expo Transporte 2026, including the Fleetboard telemetry platform and driving simulators developed with Axion Energy to improve operational efficiency and driver training.

As the industry evolves, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen are refining their approaches to the transition from internal combustion engines to electric vehicles. Mercedes-Benz is utilizing modular platforms and a shared software platform, MB.OS, to support the rollout of 40 new models by the end of 2027. Volkswagen is aiming to make electric mobility more accessible through models like the ID. Polo, while maintaining the development of traditional combustion engines to meet consumer demand and regulatory requirements.
