Ayodhya Ram Mandir construction and operations

Overview

Construction of the Ram Mandir temple complex in Ayodhya is nearing completion. Nripendra Misra, Chairman of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple Construction Committee, reported that approximately 148 of 150 projects have been finished and handed over to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. Remaining tasks, such as the Parkota perimeter structure and facade lighting, are expected to be completed by November 15, though rainfall has impacted progress on the rooftop water treatment plant.

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) is executing the construction and is required to provide all relevant records, designs, and financial documentation to the Trust for inspection. While ancillary projects like the Martyrs' Memorial are complete, work continues on the Madhavacharya Gate and various landscaping efforts.

Following the construction progress, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra announced new operational timings for the temple effective November 1, 2026. To account for the winter season and shorter daylight hours, the temple doors will open at 4:00 am and close at 10:00 pm. Under this revised schedule, regular darshan for devotees is set to begin at 7:00 am following the Shringar Aarti at 6:30 am. The timetable also includes specific ritual-related closures, such as a rest period for Ram Lalla from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm, and evening rituals including the Sandhya Aarti at 7:00 pm and the final Shayan Aarti at 9:30 pm.
