Azerbaijan-Armenia Karabakh conflict

Overview

The 44-day Karabakh War involved large-scale military operations by the Azerbaijani Army, launched as the ‘Iron Fist’ counter-offensive following provocations by Armenian armed forces on September 27, 2020. Military actions included artillery strikes in the Jabrayil, Fuzuli, and Agdere directions, the destruction of enemy equipment such as an S-300 system, and the encirclement of enemy groups. These operations resulted in significant enemy losses and civilian casualties, including 14 deaths and 46 injuries reported by the Prosecutor General's Office.

In the years following the conflict, Azerbaijani veterans have shared personal accounts of the combat. These reflections include the experiences of journalists who served in the battles for Fuzuli and Khojavend, as well as medical volunteers who traveled to assist at the front lines in areas such as Aghdam and Gubadli.
