Overview
In September 2026, several cultural and nature-focused festivals were scheduled across the Balkan region.
In Serbia, the cultural-artistic society KUD ‘Bosut’ planned ‘Veče folklora u Bosutu’ for September 6, featuring nine societies from the Srem region. Additionally, the 13th ‘Heritage Days’ occurred in Subotica from September 4 to 7, showcasing folklore and musical ensembles from the North Bačka District, Republika Srpska, and Baranja.
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the inaugural RestFest was set for September 11 to 13 in Bosansko Grahovo, focusing on nature activities like cycling and cave visits following delays caused by regional wildfires. In Bulgaria, the ‘Flavors of Autumn’ festival was scheduled for September 12 in Natovtsi, featuring culinary competitions, a ‘kurvan’ ritual, and various musical performances.
