Following the BLA’s August economic blockade and attacks on security convoys, conflict in Balochistan has intensified. Between 1 and 8 August, the BLA reported 38 operations targeting military assets, claiming over 32 military deaths. Tensions escalated significantly due to Pakistani Air Force airstrikes in the Surab district; while authorities reported 10 deaths, the BLA and local activists claimed at least 27 to 30 civilians, including women and children, were killed in the Gidar area. The BLA has since vowed an intensified campaign against state targets, including military infrastructure and railway tracks. In response, security forces launched Operation Rad-ul-Fitna-3. Intelligence-based operations across districts such as Panjgur, Mastung, and Khuzdar reportedly killed 20 militants, including a Fitna al-Hindustan commander identified as Wazir. Human rights concerns have mounted alongside the violence. The organization Paank condemned a pattern of enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings, noting the recovery of bodies of four men taken into custody without judicial oversight.
