Banes Motor České Budějovice hockey performance

Banes Motor České Budějovice has experienced fluctuating performance in the Tipsport extraliga.

Following a 1:5 defeat against Karlovy Vary in the fourth round, the team suffered a 2-4 loss to Sparta Praha in the seventh round at the O2 Arena. Despite an early equalizer by Filip Ahl, Sparta regained the lead through Shore. The match highlighted Motor’s struggles with power-play opportunities and extended a losing streak at the O2 Arena dating back to January 2022. Roman Červenka provided assists during the match, but the team could not overcome Sparta’s offensive pressure.

In the tenth round, Motor secured a 4:3 victory against Liberec. After a 2:2 tie at the end of the first period, Filip Ahl scored a power-play goal in the second period to give Motor the lead. Although Liberec’s Kachlíř equalized in the 44th minute, Zachar scored the decisive goal in the 47th minute. Due to injuries to key scorers, the team relied on a young goaltending duo, Matyáš Mařík and Bogač, with an average age of 19.5 years. The match against Liberec was noted for significant tension, including a fight between players Beránek and Zile, as well as a technical delay caused by ice maintenance issues.
