Overview

Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) is broadening financial access across the country. In July 2026 the bank launched an online portal for its Kredit Usaha Rakyat (KUR) SME loan programme, allowing small businesses to apply, upload documents and receive verification digitally, aiming for faster approval and lower costs.

BRI field officers are also extending services to remote areas. A BRI Mantri in Toraja Utara travels long distances to reach an isolated village, providing loans, savings accounts and setting up a BRILink agent for cash transfers, further promoting banking inclusion in hard‑to‑reach regions.

In the same month, BRI became the primary conduit for the government’s 3‑Million‑House programme. By late July it had disbursed Rp 10.6 trillion—about 88.3 % of the Rp 12 trillion target—and delivered 77,592 housing units, far exceeding the bank’s unit goal. The bank’s share accounts for more than half of the national KUR housing quota and 24 % of the overall funding ceiling. It also accelerated the Housing Financing Liquidity Facility, approving financing for 19,075 units by 20 July 2026, and pledged to increase loan disbursement to meet the programme’s remaining targets before year‑end.
