In June 2026, the 41st Jogos Abertos da Juventude in Barretos drew over 4,000 athletes. Sorocaba sent a large delegation of 165 staff and athletes competing in 12 disciplines. Local table tennis competitors also achieved podium finishes in Lorena and Taubaté, while young gymnasts earned various medals at the Taça São Paulo de Estreantes in Suzano.
