Basque Government economic aid programs

The Basque Government has implemented various financial aid programs to support different sectors of the regional economy.

In August 2026, the government extended the application period for the Zabaldu+ internationalization aid program until September 15. This edition includes 13.6 million euros, a 40% increase over the previous version, with a goal of mobilizing 34 million euros for market expansion. The program targets industrial and technological small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), including startups, through a focus on administrative simplification and market diversification.

By September 2026, the government approved an additional 4.46 million euros specifically for the social economy in Euskadi. This funding allocates 4.025 million euros to promote collective entrepreneurship and the creation of new cooperatives or labor societies, particularly for unemployed individuals and people with disabilities. The remaining 440,000 euros is designated for technical assistance to help existing companies improve management and competitiveness.
