Season 4 of Battlefield 6 launched on 21 July 2026 under the “Pacific Front” banner, introducing the Tsuru Reef map and various naval vehicles and weapons. While Steam saw high concurrent player counts, EA reported stability issues regarding NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50-series drivers on water-heavy maps. Phase 2, released via update 1.4.2.0, features a major Top Gun: Maverick crossover in partnership with Paramount Games Studio. This expansion includes the return of the classic Wake Island map, rebuilt for naval, land, and aerial combat. New two-seater combat jets, the F-74A Seacat and the F/A-81F Super Spectre, allow for cooperative gameplay, alongside the new Interdictor sniper rifle. New game modes include ‘Carrier Strike’ and ‘Gauntlet: Fighter Sweep’. The collaboration features voice acting from original film actors Miles Teller, Lewis Pullman, and Charles Parnell. To promote the update, EA is offering a free one-week trial of the multiplayer component from 18 August to 25 August 2026. This trial provides access to several modes, including Conquest and Breakthrough, and includes character skins for figures such as Lt. Bradley ‘Rooster’ Bradshaw, Lt. Robert ‘Bob’ Floyd, and Adm. Solomon ‘Warlock’ Bates. This trial period coincides with the first beta phase of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, which runs from 21 August to 25 August 2026, representing a period of competitive scheduling between the two franchises. Despite the content launch, players continue to report technical issues involving graphics driver crashes on PC when playing on maps with large water surfaces; EA is reportedly working with NVIDIA to resolve these stability problems. Phase 3, the “Tidal Strike” event, is slated for 15 September.
