Belgium pension helpline service changes

Overview

The Belgian Federal Pension Service (SPF Pensions) has transitioned its free ‘Pensioenlijn’ telephone service (1765) to a standard number, 02 225 17 65, effective September 1, 2026.

This change is a cost-saving measure expected to save the involved institutions—SPF, Inasti, and Sigedis—more than €1 million annually. While the service, operating hours, and available contact methods such as email and online portals remain unchanged, callers are now subject to standard telephony rates. Provisions for vulnerable callers, including free callbacks and voice messages, continue to be available.
