Beneva Montréal Marathon event

Overview

The 34th edition of the Beneva Montréal Marathon is scheduled to take place from Friday, October 9, through Sunday, October 11. The event is expected to involve approximately 35,000 runners representing 57 countries.

Organizers have warned of significant road closures and transit disruptions throughout various Montreal neighborhoods. While Friday evening activities at Parc Maisonneuve are not expected to impact vehicle traffic, Saturday races will require closures around the park affecting areas such as Sherbrooke Street East, Rosemont Boulevard, and Viau Boulevard.

The most substantial disruptions are anticipated on Sunday during the half-marathon and full marathon. The course will proceed from Sainte-Hélène Island through Vieux-Montréal, Le Plateau-Mont-Royal, Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie, and Ahuntsic-Cartierville. Key streets, including Rue Notre-Dame, Boulevard Saint-Laurent, and Boulevard Saint-Joseph, will experience rolling closures between 6:30 a.m. and 3:25 p.m. The STM has advised commuters to prepare for adjusted métro service.
