Bielsko-Biała cultural programming
Overview
Bielsko-Biała has implemented various cultural initiatives as part of its designation as the Polish Capital of Culture. Early programming included community-led art projects, such as the creation of large-scale mosaics representing city districts and the installation of colorful ceramic compositions in sidewalk gaps by the French collective EMEMEM, a practice described as “healing the city.”
As the cultural program expanded, the city hosted international street theater, acrobatics, and circus performances through the project ‘Sąsiedzi – Teatralnie. Cyrkowo. Po sąsiedzku,’ featuring artists from Poland, the Czech Republic, France, and Germany. Additionally, the ‘Autobus Bielsko-Biała PSK 2026’ served as a mobile gallery and concert stage that traveled to major Polish cities to promote local creativity.
