Overview
Sardegna Ricerche has introduced the ‘Next Step PoC – NEXT’ call for proposals, allocating 1.75 million euros to advance biomedical technologies. The initiative is designed to move prototypes closer to the market and facilitate technology transfer and new entrepreneurial ventures within the region.
Targeted innovation areas include diagnostic systems, medical devices, genetics, genomics, bioinformatics, telemedicine, and clinical informatics. Regional Councilor Giuseppe Meloni noted that the funding aims to transform scientific expertise into economic opportunities by leveraging infrastructure such as the BIOMED Platform in Pula and Alghero.
