In late July 2026 Bishop Cesare Di Pietro, newly appointed head of the Diocese of Locri‑Gerace, began a series of pastoral tours of local health facilities. On 27 July he visited the Centro Neurolesi and the Ospedale di Locri in southern Italy, meeting hospital administrators, doctors and volunteers, and publicly praised the staff’s competence and compassion.
