Blue Moon Metals critical mineral project developments

Blue Moon Metals is managing various regulatory and operational developments across its critical mineral projects in Norway and the United States.

In Norway, the Nussir project has faced market pressure following a report from Viceroy Research. The report suggested the project might lose its permit to deposit tailings in the Repparfjord. While analysts noted that the report may have conflated different legal matters—such as a Norwegian Supreme Court ruling regarding the Engebø project—and that the EFTA Surveillance Authority has criticized Norway’s application of the European Water Framework Directive, the loss of the Nussir permit has not actually occurred.

Despite these regulatory risks, the company is advancing its operations. In the United States, Blue Moon Metals received permission to begin construction at its Springer site in Nevada. The company is also focusing on the Apex project for germanium and gallium production, alongside its work in Norway, to support Western supply chains for defense-critical materials like tungsten.
