BNDES agricultural grain storage financing
Overview
The Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) has established credit terms for its Warehouse Construction and Expansion Program (PCA) to address infrastructure pressures in the agricultural sector. For the 2026/27 agricultural year, the program offers fixed interest rates capped at 8% per year for projects up to 12,000 tons, with other projects facing rates up to 9.5% per year. Funding limits are set at R$ 50 million per producer and R$ 200 million for production cooperatives.
Following the announcement of these terms, BNDES approved R$ 42.8 million in financing for the Coasul Agroindustrial Cooperative. This funding, which covers 98.2% of a R$ 43.6 million investment, is designated for expanding storage capacity by 24,000 tons across two locations in Paraná: Laranjal and São João. The expansion includes the construction of silos, an input warehouse, and grain cleaning machinery to reduce unloading bottlenecks during harvest periods.
