An initial survey of 100 smartphone users found that 36% have used BNPL services, with Paidy (12%) and PayPay Credit (11%) identified as the most common providers. The data indicated a correlation between BNPL usage and the purchase of digital gifts or gift cards, with 52.8% of BNPL users reporting such experience.
A subsequent study focusing on cash conversion through BNPL services analyzed 40 valid responses. This research found that 70.0% of respondents received between 80% and 89% of the original amount used, with 37.5% receiving 80–84% and 32.5% receiving 85–89%. Additionally, 12.5% of respondents reported receiving 90% or more of the amount used.
