Bosnia and Herzegovina election board preparations
Overview
In preparation for the 2026 General Elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina, municipal election commissions have begun processes to secure polling station personnel.
In Šekovići, the Municipal Election Commission issued a call for candidates to join a reserve list of qualified persons. These individuals would serve as members or deputies for polling stations and mobile teams. Eligibility requires applicants to be local voters with at least a high school education, while disqualifying high-ranking political officials and those with recent election law violations.
In Lukavac, the City Election Commission reported an urgent need to fill vacancies. The commission noted that seven of the 17 political entities entitled to propose candidates failed to submit names for their assigned stations. This has left a deficit of 218 members and deputies, as well as 30 chairpersons and deputy chairpersons. With only six individuals currently on the reserve list, the commission is seeking new applicants by a September 3, 2026, deadline.
