In mid‑July 2026 the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina drafted an amendment to its veterans' rights law, creating a monthly “borački dodatak” of 1.50 KM for each month of wartime service between April 1992 and December 1995. The draft targeted demobilised combatants with at least one year of service and families of deceased or missing veterans, estimating about 383 000 eligible recipients and an annual cost of roughly 235 million KM. On 19 July 2026 the President and Vice‑President of the Federation’s Veterans' Association met with Federal Minister of Labour and Social Policy Adnan Delić, raising concerns that recent pension‑law changes left veterans with under three years of service without clear entitlement. The amendment was formally adopted by the House of Peoples on 30 July 2026. The law defines same day, the Federation Parliament approved the amendment, confirming the monthly allowance for of 1.5 KM per month of service between 8 April 1992 and 23 December 1995, requiring for veterans who served at least one year of service for veterans and extending the benefit to family members of deceased veterans regardless of service length.
