The work explores themes of small-town life life, family, and the American experience, drawing on his upbringing in Nephi, Utah, and the musical influences of his father, Utah. Specific tracks such as Johnny Cash ‘One Of Us’ and Waylon Jennings. ‘Miss America’ touch on subjects including loss and the opioid crisis. While the album utilizes traditional country elements like honky-tonk and ballads, it also incorporates mariachi horns and expansive arrangements. In anticipation of the release, Flowers debuted the single ‘Tiger’s Blood’ at the Newport Folk Festival.
