The Brazilian Federal Revenue Service (Receita Federal) has released the fourth and final regular installment of the 2026 Individual Income Tax (IRPF) refunds. Scheduled for distribution on Monday, August 31, this batch involves approximately R$ 1.24 billion and covers 521,935 taxpayers, including residual amounts from previous years. Of the total amount, R$ 704.12 million is allocated to taxpayers with legal priority. This group includes 16,850 individuals over 80, 86,873 seniors aged 60 to 79, 9,029 people with disabilities or serious illnesses, and 26,769 teachers. Additionally, 338,912 beneficiaries are prioritized because they utilized pre-filled declarations or selected Pix for payment. The remaining 43,502 beneficiaries are classified as non-priority taxpayers. In 2026, the number of regular refund batches was reduced from five to four. The first two batches accounted for 80% of the total expected refunds, a change attributed to increased automation and modernization in processing. In the state of Pará, R$ 30.3 million is allocated to 12,987 taxpayers, primarily concentrated in Belém. Credits are processed via the bank account or Pix key (CPF) provided in the tax declaration. Taxpayers can monitor their status through the official Receita Federal website via the ‘Meu Imposto de Renda’ section or the mobile application. If discrepancies appear in the processing statement, or if a declaration is held in the ‘malha fina’ (tax audit) due to inconsistencies, taxpayers are advised to rectify their declarations through the e-CAC portal. As in previous installments, failed deposits due to incorrect information can be retrieved at Banco do Brasil for up to 12 months.
