Through October 20, the agency sent weekly batches of letters to 498,487 taxpayers—approximately 1.25% of the 40 million total filers—to encourage self-regularization of discrepancies such as omitted dependent income or incorrect medical expense deductions. The agency emphasized that these notifications were intended for guidance rather than formal audits or penalties, in accordance with Complementary Law 225/2026.

This period of tax activity coincided with broader federal revenue growth; Brazil accumulated R$ 2.019 trillion in revenue from January to August 2026, a 7.12% increase compared to 2025.
