Brazil inclusive education initiative

In early July 2026 Brazil’s Ministry of Education announced the creation of a network of innovation poles and a special‑education observatory, signalling a governmental push to modernise and broaden access to education for students with diverse needs.

Later that month the ministry’s agenda moved to the field level, convening two high‑profile inclusive‑education events. The 4th International Inclusive Education Seminar in Fortaleza gathered national and international experts to discuss universal‑design learning, autism inclusion and neuroscience‑based teaching. In parallel, the municipality of Alta Floresta hosted the CISITEA 2026 Congress on autism inclusion, emphasizing professional training for teachers and health workers. Both gatherings reflected the ministry’s earlier policy launch, translating the new institutional structures into concrete dialogues, workshops and policy exchanges aimed at improving inclusive practices across Brazil.
