Brazil municipal ambulance expansion

Overview

From early July to early August 2026, municipalities across Brazil continued to receive new SAMU ambulances and health infrastructure as part of coordinated federal and local investment. The July snapshot reported deliveries in Itaituba (Pará), Sumé, Parintins (Amazonas), Vilhena (Rondônia), São João Batista (Santa Catarina), Ilhabela (São Paulo) and Parauapebas, including ambulances, a new basic health unit, a poly‑sports gym, diagnostic equipment and a mobile health unit. By early August, the rollout extended to Curuçá in Pará, where a new ambulance was provided for the KM 42 community, and Ouro Velho in Ceará, which received two additional ambulances. These successive deliveries illustrate an ongoing effort by municipal authorities, supported by federal programs and local funding, to strengthen emergency medical response and expand health services throughout the country.
