These technical advancements support the proposed National Urban Arborization and Thermal Resilience Policy. This federal initiative seeks to mandate tree coverage targets in large cities and vulnerable neighborhoods, prioritizing shade infrastructure near schools and health centers while offering incentives to municipalities that achieve specific preservation and planting milestones.
