Brazilian city traffic adjustments

In early July, Belo Horizonte and Brusque announced temporary traffic changes for a race and a football match. By month‑end, Chapecó introduced one‑way streets in the Maria Goretti neighbourhood and Curitiba blocked a section of Avenida Arthur Bernardes for a day as part of the Novo Inter 2 road‑modernisation programme.

Later in July, a running event in Valinhos caused full and partial road closures on several avenues, with traffic resuming the next morning. Poços de Caldas began a full reconstruction of João Pinheiro Avenue to reinforce pavement for heavy daily traffic. In São Paulo, the CPTM rail operator scheduled temporary platform changes on lines 10‑Turquesa, 11‑Coral, 12‑Safira and 13‑Jade for maintenance on 2 August.

Infrastructure upgrades continued in Minas Gerais, where the Filadélpia viaduct entered a second construction phase, and in Santo André, where the right‑hand lane of the Presidente Juscelino Kubitschek viaduct was completed and work on the left lane began. The series of road, rail and viaduct modifications underscores a nationwide pattern of Brazilian municipalities adjusting traffic patterns for events, maintenance and long‑term infrastructure projects throughout July and early August 2026.
