In late August 2026, the Court of Justice of the State of Bahia (TJBA) and the Public Prosecutor's Office of the State of Bahia (MPBA) began strengthening cooperation regarding structural processes. During meetings at the TJBA's 2nd Vice-Presidency and its Intelligence Center (CIJEBA), officials discussed joint actions such as the regionalized cleaning of precedents and collective actions. The MPBA also introduced its Socio-Environmental Observatory to support judicial and extrajudicial actions through strategic data analysis of public policy implementation. By mid-September 2026, the TJBA expanded its social outreach through the launch of ‘Projeto Pertencer’. This initiative seeks to coordinate public sector actions within socially vulnerable communities by integrating justice, public security, health, education, and social assistance through a collaborative governance network. A Technical Cooperation Agreement will establish a Collaborative Governance Network for Citizen and Restorative Justice, involving the State Government, the City of Salvador, the MPBA, and the Public Defender's Office, with planned participation from universities and civil society. The project emphasizes restorative justice and community mediation to provide services without formal judicial demands. Prior to the launch, leaders from the TJBA and the Superior Court of Justice (STJ) conducted institutional visits to communities in the Suburbs of Salvador, such as Paripe and São João do Cabrito, to engage directly with residents and local cultural agents. Additionally, the TJBA scheduled an edition of the ‘Ouvidoria Judicial Itinerante’ for September 16 and 17 at the Ruy Barbosa Forum and the Family Forum in Salvador. Led by Judicial Ombudsman Alberto Raimundo Gomes dos Santos, the program aims to bring the justice system closer to society by providing channels for citizens to submit suggestions, compliments, information requests, and complaints. In mid-September, the judiciary also launched new social rights initiatives.
