Brazilian gaming industry growth and expansion

Overview

Brazil has established itself as a major global video game market, driven by a robust calendar of domestic events such as the Brazil Game Show and the Brasília Game Festival. This ecosystem is supported by a growing community of content creators and influencers who promote local tournaments and broader gaming culture.

The industry is currently expanding its international footprint. Through the Brazil Games project, an initiative in partnership between Abragames and ApexBrasil, a delegation of 78 Brazilian studios and companies is participating in gamescom 2026 in Cologne, Germany. Scheduled between August 24 and 30, the delegation will attend both gamescom dev and the main event.

As the event commences, the initiative is debuting a Brazilian Indie Pavilion in Hall 10.2. This dedicated space will showcase 35 independent titles across various genres, including narrative adventures, action RPGs, strategy, horror, sports, and card games. This expansion shifts the program’s presence from a strictly B2B focus into the B2C entertainment area, providing trade visitors, media, and consumers direct access to Brazilian developers. This effort aims to increase international visibility, networking, and business opportunities by connecting national companies with global publishers, investors, and strategic partners. Simultaneously, domestic corporate entities like Wildlife Studios are focusing on internal innovation and leadership restructuring to strengthen organizational culture.
