Municipal parliamentary inquiries in Brazil are investigating various allegations of financial and administrative irregularities within local governments.

In Paranaguá, the Municipal Chamber has moved toward concluding a Special Inquiry Commission (CEI) regarding municipal contracts with AGP Saúde. The investigation, supported by accounting and legal teams, focuses on potential irregularities in the provision of healthcare services.

In Patos de Minas, a parliamentary commission is examining health service contracts managed by the Consórcio Intermunicipal de Saúde do Alto Paranaíba (CISALP) from 2021 to 2026. An audit of over R$ 15 million in expenses identified approximately R$ 4 million in payments lacking robust documentation. Findings include the misuse of staff functions and insufficient evidence regarding hours worked during shifts.

Simultaneously, an inquiry in Novo Hamburgo is investigating allegations of “double salaries” involving Finance Secretary Michele Vargas Antonello for payments received between February 2025 and July 2026. This investigation has faced internal friction regarding the decision to allow the secretary to testify remotely.
