Brazilian musical festival funding initiatives
Overview
Various cultural funding programs have been launched to support musical festivals in Brazil.
In Amapá, the Festival Quebramar has initiated a national call for musical projects for its 2026 edition in Macapá. Themed ‘Integrating the Guianas’, the festival aims to connect artists from the Brazilian Amazon, the Caribbean Amazon, and the Guiana territories. Selected acts receive a fee of R$ 5,000 plus travel and accommodation, alongside professional development opportunities such as workshops and business meetings involving representatives from Brazil, French Guiana, and Suriname.
In Betim, the ‘Festivais em Cena’ initiative has opened applications for a R$ 300,000 fund supported by the Ministry of Culture through the National Aldir Blanc Policy (PNAB). The program intends to provide up to R$ 60,000 to five selected cultural groups or collectives to organize at least three free music festivals across different regions of the city.
