Overview

In September 2026, the Civil Police of Ceará launched ‘Impacto X’, a major operation aimed at dismantling the Comando Vermelho criminal organization. Coordinated by the Draco unit, the offensive deployed approximately 350 officers across Fortaleza and 13 other municipalities.

The operation resulted in the execution of 94 arrest warrants targeting individuals in both the community and the prison system. Following an 18-month investigation, authorities reported the seizure of drugs, weapons, and mobile phones, as well as the freezing of R$ 73 million in assets and bank accounts linked to the group. This action marks the 10th phase of a series of operations targeting the faction in Ceará throughout 2026.
