The 5th edition of the Caju de Leitores Festival is scheduled for taking place from September 2 to 4, 2026, at Oca Tururim in Xandó Village, located within the Barra Velha Indigenous Territory in Porto Seguro, Bahia. Sessions have focused on teaching children ancestral words for animals, such as ‘Mukusuy’ (fish) and ‘Exna’ (jaguar), to affirm Pataxó identity and connect younger generations to their territory. The event has also facilitated cross-border cultural exchanges between Brazil and Argentina.
