Campbell River Storm VIJHL season updates

Overview

A Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League (VIJHL) game between the Campbell River Storm and the Kerry Park Islanders was postponed on September 25 after a rink glass malfunction. The incident occurred during the first period when a section of glass behind the Kerry Park net shattered. Head coach Lee Stone described the event as a “freak thing,” and the league began working to reschedule the match.

Following the postponement, the Storm played a separate game on September 27, defeating the Nanaimo Buccaneers 6-2. In subsequent league action on October 2, the Storm lost 3-1 to the Lake Cowichan Kraken. The Storm rebounded on October 3 with a 9-4 victory over the Kerry Park Islanders, led by Ryder Tanner, bringing their record to 4-5-1.
