Overview

In July 2026, the Canadian housing market showed divergent trends between regional and national levels. Although national activity was 5.3% lower than in July 2025, the national average sale price saw a slight year-over-year increase of 0.2%. CREA Senior Economist Shaun Cathcart observed that markets across various regions, including Ontario’s Greater Golden Horseshoe and British Columbia’s Lower Mainland, were generally shifting toward more balanced market conditions as new listings continued to decline.
